Introduction

The area of ISQS
offers a Master of Science in Management Information Systems in
two formats. The traditional MS in MIS program is designed to
prepare students for positions in the information technology
industry. This program focuses on systems development (including
database and analysis and design of systems), networking, and
management of information systems. Courses in electronic commerce,
data mining and data warehousing, IS strategy, and many other area
of information systems are also offered.
The Executive
MSBA-MIS is designed for working IT professionals. Complete

Financial Aid

Masters
students may apply for scholarships and assistantships. Students
who receive a scholarship or an assistantship qualify for in-state
tuition.

Transfer Work
|
|
There is no
automatic transfer of credit toward a masters degree, but work
completed in residence at another accredited graduate school may,
on the recommendation of the department concerned, be accepted for
as much as six semester hours toward a masters degree. Work
completed at another graduate school with a grade less than B will
not be accepted. Transfer credit will not alter a student's
grade-point average at Texas Tech.

Grade Requirement
|
|
For the
masters degree, the minimum requirement for graduation is an
average of 3.0 in the major subject and an overall average of 3.0
in all courses.

Time Limit
|
|
Work credited
toward a masters degree must be completed within six years.
Students whose graduate study is interrupted by military service
will be granted an extension of time for the period of their
military duty, but not exceeding five years.
